It’s one of the funniest comedies on the telly right now, so we’re at all surprised to hear that MTV in America wants to remake The Inbetweeners for a US audience. The network is already developing it’s own version of teen drama Skins, and now they’ve bought the rights to The Inbetweeners too. An MTV big-wig said the show, “[is] unique and bold, its approach to contemporary teen coming-of-age stories is universal and simply hilarious, and it will resonate immensely with our core demographic.” Which is statement we totally agree with, we just wouldn’t express our love of the show with words like “resonate” or “core demographic.”
Do you think it’s a good idea for MTV to remake The Inbetweeners, or should they just watch the original and and bloody well stop stealing ideas from over here.
