This week the X-factor contestants were shipped off to a range of glamorous locations to practice furiously and then audition in front of their judges.
First up were the boys and the over 28s. The boys had lucked out and were shipped out to Australia to perform in front to Dannii Minogue.
Dannii had invited Natalie Imbruglia over to help with the judging. Dannii and Natalie were wearing co-ordinated dresses, haircuts and eyes
The boys started off with Nicola Festa who should have taken his hat off and got some trousers that actually fitted.
After him was Tom Richards who had burned his nose in the sun. Paige Richardson came across as charming, but we’re not sure if that will be enough.
John Wilding, Karl Brown and Marlon McKenzie were slightly rushed through which is a shame because Marlon gave a great performance and is hot.
Matt Cardle got a lot of screen time. He came across like a poor man’s Chris Martin, a very nervous one. He sang beautifully but looked like he was about to vomit at any time.
Aiden Grimshaw was up last and really shone through. He was achingly pretty with lovely hair and a cracking voice.
He was definitely the best of the pretty boys and really helped by his choice of song.
Over 28s
Louis Walsh had landed the over 28 category and so the mismatched bunch went to Ireland to perform for him in the largest house in the world ever.
Sharon Osbourne turned up to aid with the judging and to help Louis get things off high shelves.
Steve Hunter started off the performances. He really tried but it felt like he was over-singing the song and he need to stop shimmying. Louis and Sharon just looked awkwardly at each other.
Yuli Miguel was up next and belted her song in a confident manner. She was followed by Justin Vanderhyde who sang well enough but looked like a baddie from a children’s cartoon.
Wagner Carrilho appeared in an awful set of clothes and managed to get a mention of his deathbed in before performing. His interpretation of ‘You’ve got the love’ was weird but in an interesting way.
We can’t help thinking that if Wagner got a haircut and wore a nice suit he might be quite foxy.
Mary Byrne forgot the words briefly but managed to recover and used her impressive singing voice to great effect.
John Adeleye managed to perform without banging on about how much he wanted it, and was really refreshing after all the intense drama of the previous contestants.
Elesha Moses was good, but didn’t really stand out which left Storm Lee to close the group. He really had something to prove and had far too many buttons on his jacket.
Storm can clearly sing and knows how to do it but spoiled his performance at the end by going all wibbly on the final note and crying a bit.
So who do you think deserves to go through from the boys and the over 28s?
