What did you think of the new Skins?

Skins is one of our favourite teen dramas, like, ever – so we have been very excited about the arrival of the new series and of course checking out the brand new cast.
 
Last night saw the new gang of Skins teens make their official debut as the fifth series kicked off on E4. Once again the show succeeded in making heatworld’s own teen years seem like a dull waste of time, with the ususal mix of sex, drugs and rock and roll that has come to define the show.
 
Did you tune into last night’s episode? If you did we want to know what you thought of the new characters (we don’t have a crush on anyone yet, but give it time…), the fashion, the crazy teen antics (did it make you feel old too?), and anything else you care to comment on.

    I also found it rather 'childish' and a more younger vibe. Mini's character has been done time after time, boring. I also didin't warm to any of the characters! As i currently live in Bristol i just found myself looking out for where i recognised. No-where near as good as the first 2 generations so far......

    I saved the first episode so i can watch the first two together, then I'll know if I like. Thumbs at for sky +.

    i think it shows promise...nice to see a more alternative group of characters, but as a young person, some of the scenes just don't ring true.

    This first episode didn't really light my fire. Some of the characters were great ideas - Frankie, Liv, Rich and Alo - while some just felt a bit blah. Mini especially was a bit of a fail in the Queen Bee department, and nowhere near the same league as Michelle and Effy, who were arseholes but still charismatic and likeable.

    didnt enjoy it, i was looking forward to the new series but it disappointed me, i will tune in for the new few but i doubt it will keep with the ratings :-/

    the first series was really good but then like many shows just went crap and silly. shameless is like that now, when james mcavoy was in it it was brill and now its just stupid!

    I liked it. But then again thats because I trust skins. But to be honest, I didn't feel it as much. I personally think they've took it in the wrong direction. But then again I might watch a couple more episodes and get right in to it. I'm just giving it time, but for now, it was a bit of a let down.
