Fern Britton is set to return to our screens on regular basis to host a brand new teatime TV show for Channel 4. *Sigh* News like this makes us wish it was our job to sit at home and watch TV all day.
The new programme called Fern (wow, what an imaginative title) will be an hour-long daily show that mixes real life stories with celebrity and entertainment news ( a bit like This Morning then). The series will see members of the live studio audience share their stories, while celebrity guests will be encouraged to interact with the show as much as possible.
Everyone seems very excited about Fern, Head of Channel 4 Daytime, Helen Warner commented, “I have long been a fan of Fern and am thrilled that she is joining us at Channel 4. Whether she’s interviewing ordinary people, Hollywood stars or Prime Ministers, there is no-one better than Fern. For me, she is the British answer to Oprah.”
While Fern is equally pleased about her new job, “I am thrilled to be working with Channel 4 and Cactus TV and I am very excited about being in on the start of a brand new show. I'm working with a great team and together we shall rise to the challenge."
We’re looking forward to seeing Fern back on the telly (it will certainly give us something good to watch on sick days), but what do you think?
