British stunner Lily Cole has already appeared in two major movies – once as a schoolgirl in hit comedy St Trinian’s and another as the beautiful Valentina in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus – has landed another acting role, but this time as a sea monster in the new series of Doctor Who.
The catwalk queen, who’s currently studying History of Art at Cambridge University, will appear as a mysterious ocean creature in an upcoming episode, in which the Time Lord visits a pirate ship in the 1600s.
And Cole insists she can't wait to shoot her role.
She tells The Sun, "It is a great script and a fun character and I am glad to be involved."
The show has been hailed as a national institution in the United Kingdom and has won 42 awards since restarting in 2005.
It has also been added to the Guinness Book of Records as as the longest-running science fiction television show in the world, and as the "most successful" science fiction series of all time, in terms of its overall broadcast ratings, DVD and book sales, iTunes traffic, and "illegal downloads".
Cole will be joining an a-list roster of actors and actresses that have guest starred on the show, including Bill Nighy, James Corden, Michael Gambon, Zoe Wanamaker and Kylie Minogue.
This also means Karen Gillan's reign as the show's most stunning redhead could be over.
So what’s your verdict? Will Lily Cole blossom as her name suggests, or will she sink to the bottom of the ratings?
