The show’s executive producers Stephanie Savage and Josh Safran have dropped some fairly hefty hints about the end of the current series, and it’s all terribly exciting. Explains Savage, “Last year's finale was a little bit darker, and this one is more juicy and fun. Every finale is a game-changer, but this one really is spinning everyone off in new ways that will be apparent as you watch it. The road map for all of the characters will be very clear... That's not to say there won't be multiple cliffhangers."

Savage and Safran unfortunately didn’t clear up the issue of Blair’s (Leighton Meester) complicated love life, saying only that she’d be torn between Dan (Penn Badgley), Chuck or Prince Louis (Hugo Becker). Well, duh! We need to know who she’s going to choose!
As for Chuck (Ed Westwick), he’ll be moving in a “very, very dark” direction as he continues to investigate his father’s connection to the death of Raina’s mother.
Gossip Girl is back on ITV2 on 20 April at 8pm.
