Anyone who’s seen Holly Willoughby’s rapidly growing baby bump will know it’s not going to be long before the This Morning star heads off on maternity leave. But who’s going to keep Phillip Schofield company once she’s gone? Well, we can tell you who… Ruth Langsford and Jenni Falconer are stepping in to help out when Holly goes on leave on 14 April.
Ruth (who of course already presents the ITV daytime show on Fridays with her husband Eamonn Holmes) and Jenni will split the first six weeks of Holly’s maternity leave between them, and guest hosts will be lined up to fill in for the rest of Holly’s time off.
Holly said of her temporary departure: "It's an extremely exciting time for me, but I will of course miss Phil and the This Morning team while I'm away having my little girl. I’ll of course be watching during my time off and I know my replacements will do a fantastic job." While co-host Phillip added: "I’m going to really miss Holly whilst she’s off but wish her a safe delivery and wonderful break. We will be in constant touch with each other and I look forward to informing our This Morning viewers of the good news and working on the show with my new co-hosts."
