Former Busted/I’m A Celebrity star Matt Willis is in the running for a role in EastEnders – and if he lands the role it’s thought he’ll be playing Alfie Moon’s cousin.
Matt apparently impressed soap bosses with his first screen test so he’s been asked back for a second audition. A show insider revealed to The Mirror “EastEnders has a few new faces coming to Walford over the next few months, which they are currently casting for. Matt’s screen test went really well and he’s been called back for a second. It would be great for him to land this gig. Matt’s got a great aura about him and he’s been working hard on his acting skills. Bagging a job on the soap would be a dream come true for him, and he’s been a huge fan for years. It’s definitely the next chapter in his life and he’s just hoping it works out.”
An official spokes person for the show has confirmed that Matt is being considered for a part, ”We are seeing a number of people, including Matt, about future roles, however no decisions have been made yet.”
Pop star to soap star
We remember when it was the fashion for soap stars to try their hand at being a pop star, now with the likes of Kym Marsh, Keith Duffy and Susanne Shaw all starring in soaps, it looks like it’s now a trend for pop stars to reinvent themselves as soap actors.
Would you like to see Matt on Easties, or should an unknown actor get his big break?
