After months of speculation, former Big Brother and Ultimate Big Brother winner Brian Dowling has been confirmed as the brand new host for the Channel 5 version of the show, which begins in a just a few weeks.
Last night the jolly darling announced his exciting news on Twitter, saying, "I am very happy to say that I shall be hosting Big Brother this year for Ch5! It still hasn’t sunk in yet!! Thank u all so much for all your love and support!! I won’t let all u BB fans down!! Big Brother house this is Brian, u are live on Ch 5…"
While we're still not 100 per cent sure how we feel about Big Brother coming back at all, let alone on Channel Five, we're still chuffed that Brian's going to take over where Davina McCall left off. After all, there can't be many people on the planet who know more about the show than Mr Dowling, plus he has the added bonus of knowing exactly how it feels to be trapped inside that house for weeks on end – something Davina never really experienced. Also, he's funny. And nice. And we like him.
