US X Factor: Viewing figures are in and they don't look great!

It’s probably been the most hyped up show in the world, ever.  Heck, we don’t even live in the USA but know enough about it to write a book. Yep, we are of course talking about The X Factor USA.

In case you didn’t know, the show kicked off last night in America but surprisingly aired to disappointing viewing figures.

Well, we say disappointing but 12.5 million still tuned in to watch. However, Simon had said in the past that he hoped for at least 20 million.

Despite nearly 13 million viewers, the show lagged behind in third place after shows Modern Family and Criminal Minds which pulled in 14.1 million.

To put things into perspective, the show that Simon dumped for The X Factor, American Idol premiered it drew in a ridiculously massive 28 million viewers which suddenly makes 12.5 million look rather puny in comparison!

Considering that Simon Cowell is boasting a $5million prize for the winner, coming in third place must be a bit of a let down!

I watched it and liked it. Cheryl was better than nicole. However Paula bugs me. Drama Queen, vomiting at a wily. Why is she there? She is Simon's American Sinitta and he has put her on the judging panel.

I think showing it immediately after the British auditions was a bit of a faux pas - I've seen enough already! I got bored and switched off.

for a brand new show to be the third most watched is pretty good going...idol is established, of course its going to pull in more. i think x factor will rise. when you compare it with idol, idol looks so dated...we dumped it in the early 2000's for a reason!

I watched US X Factor tonight for an hour, just to see what all the fuss was about...and after watching some deluded nutjob get his c**k out on stage in front of the judges, I wish I never bothered! I don't like it. And Steve Jones (nice as he is) came across as a wet blanket. I prefer Dermot. Give me the UK version anyday.

The UK version probably gets about that many viewers and there are a lot less of us over here. He should have just stayed and done the UK X Factor - It's not the same without him. I refuse to watch. I do not like change!
