BIG news for Gavin and Stacey fans! Ruth Jones has revealed two equally exciting nuggets of Gavin and Stacey news.
Firstly, Ruth who plays Nessa and also co-writes the series with James Cordon, has confessed the pair are keen to turn Gavin and Stacey into a musical! Yes,really! And secondly, that the series WILL be back in the near future! SCREAM!
"We'd love to do Gavin & Stacey: The Musical," she told the Evening Standard. "I know it is something James wants to do too.”
"I saw Billy Elliot on stage the other day and I thought it would be something good to do. It's something I would definitely be up for."
We can imagine it now: ‘What’s Occurin’’ goes musical theatre! What’s not to love!
Ruth also said there will DEFINITELY be more of the TV series in the future:
"We will definitely be doing another episode of Gavin & Stacey.”
But it won’t be a Christmas special (boo!):
"We wanted to do a Christmas special but it keeps getting moved back.”
The reason? Well, Ruth is a busy lady y’know!
“I would have liked to have done it this year but I have a new ten-part series and James has just started a play.”
Ok, now they are just showing off! She continued:
“James has also just become a dad so we've been pretty busy. But James and I are very close and will keep in touch about a new show."
Eek! Just don’t leave it too long – we don’t think we can stand the wait!
