Yay! He’s dazzled us with his quickstep and completely blew us away with his Viennese Waltz and tonight, Harry Judd’s hard work paid off as he has just been crowned the winner of Strictly Come Dancing 2011.
Harry nailed the Argentine tango as his final dance - as well as performing the show-dance, American smooth and quickstep, and he received a perfect score of 40 from the judges. He ended up beating Chelsee Healey and Jason Donovan to win the title - showing that you lot out there have absolutely loved his moves as much as we have. A very deserved winner.
The McFly drummer has also topped the polls all over the nation – including our heatworld one in the run up to the final. He was clearly a favourite all along.
Jason was the first person to be voted out of the competition tonight, leaving the final two as Harry and Chelsee. And although Chelsee has been brilliant on the dance floor too, it appears Harry's top-scoring footwork and incredible personality took him right to the winner's post.
Harry initially got the thrill for dancing back when he took part in a Strictly charity special last year with Rochelle Wiseman from The Saturdays. And when this year’s official Strictly line up was revealed, we knew we were in for a treat. Since then the star has notched up 10s from Alesha Dixon and the judges throughout the series and has been given mostly positive comments throughout the contest. There’s no doubt the man’s a natural when it comes to working his feet and body!
Speaking of the moment he decided to sign up to do the show, Harry said, “Izzy [Harry’s girlfriend] really encouraged me. She said, 'Imagine how much fun it will be and how great it would be to be taught by a professional.' I'll come home and try out some of my new footwork with her. We might have a little waltz around the living room.”
And with that a dancing star is born – and we can only wonder whether Haz will bring out some of his new moves when McFly go on tour next year. Oh and we should mention that Danny Jones has promised that Dougie Poynter, Tom Fletcher and himself will get naked if Harry wins (just like Danny did when Dougie was crowned King Of The Jungle)... which means we should be expecting a special tweet as soon they get back to their hotel. Bring it on boys! Harry truly is our dancing queen.
