Shut-aaaap! The two glorious words that herald the start of only one thing – a good old TOWIE cat fight. Hurrah! Now, we’re all for sisterly love and girl power, but we’re also quite fond of watching the ladies of Essex get their claws out on a Sunday night. TOWIE did NOT disappoint on this front in 2011, with some of the best bitch-fests we’ve ever seen.
By far the best has to be Lauren Goodger and Sam Faiers’ showdown at Chloe’s wedding-themed 30th birthday party, in November. In a shocking twist (ahem), the fight was all down to Mark Wright, after Lauren spotted him and Sam smooching outside the bash. We don’t think we’ve ever heard so many F-bombs on one show. It was also wonderful to see the insult ‘mug’ make an appearance. Retro.
“She’s desperate,” ranted Mark’s ex to Lauren Pope, before shouting, “You’re meant to be my friend!” as Sam stormed off. If only they’d known in a matter of weeks Mark would be long gone and romancing a glamour model in the I’m A Celeb jungle, eh?
What with Mark’s emotional departure (emotional in the sense they made him stare out over a room of what were manly his enemies, while pretending to cry) and Lucy Mecklenburgh and Mario Falcone’s on-off relationship, it’s been a dramatic year for the Essex guys and gals, as always. Now, roll on 2012!
