Winning the X Factor is ace. Just look at the likes of Leona Lewis, Matt Cardle and now Little Mix. But being second isn’t so bad either if you’re JLS, Olly Murs or Rebecca Ferguson (er, sorry Rhydian but you don’t make the cut). Amelia Lily looks set to add to the list of successful runners up though, with news emerging that she’s just signed a three-album deal worth £500k.
We’ve got to say, the signing sounds like a pretty perfect fit for Amelia. It’s a label called Xenomania, which is a new part of Sony, that has snapped her up and they’ve worked with the likes of Girls Aloud and The Gossip. It seems Amelia is already hob-nobbing with the label's other artists, recently tweeting about meeting The Gossip’s lead singer Beth Ditto, “Just met Beth in the studio, what an absolute legend, great girl, both on the same level of madness.”
Amelia, who is currently on The X Factor 2012 Live Tour, is also working on new material in a studio in Kent. An insider has revealed to The Mirror that “Amelia will be the perfect pop star and has fantastic hit-makers who were behind some of The Saturdays’ and Girls Aloud’s best songs. It’ll be a great combination.” We couldn’t agree more. Exciting!
Meanwhile, winners Little Mix have been spotted arriving for tour rehearsals with JLS… who looked FIT, by the way. Unfortunately, they were followed by Kitty Brucknell dressed in a bright Pink hoodie covered in gold with a tiger on the back, as you do. Let’s just be grateful she was wearing actual clothes though and not some kind of see-through leotard.
