Natalie Cassidy has been offered the Holy Grail of television jobs – she’s only gone and become a regular panelist on Loose Women, hasn’t she?
The actress, who’s best-known for playing trumpet-tooting Sonia Jackson on EastEnders, is said to be delighted about her new role on the chat show, where she’ll star alongside resident Loose Women, Carol Vorderman, Carol McGiffin and Lisa Maxwell.
She starts this Friday.
Natalie has said that since appearing on Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year, alongside Frankie Cocozza, Denise Welch and Kirk Norcross, everyone’s been suggesting she joins the Loose Women team.
“Ever since Celebrity Big Brother, people have been tweeting that they’d love to see me as a Loose Woman and now it’s happening,” Natalie told The Mirror. “I can be very opinionated.”
After receiving a number of congratulatory tweets, Natalie took to Twitter to thank fans for their support.
“So excited about Friday, my chance to get loud and loose!
“Let’s hope I impress!”
You’ll be great, Nat – just leave the trumpet at home, OK?
Denise Welch no longer a Loose Woman?
The news of Natalie’s new role on the show comes as her CBB buddy Denise Welch admits she’s ready to quit the show after a ten-year stint.
The actress is struggling to juggle the show with her acting career as she stars in the theatre tour of Steel Magnolias.
“I’m touring all around the country and then have to race back to the studio,” Denise told The Sunday Mirror. “I was already knackered before the tour even started.”
She also wants to focus on her family after the recent split from husband Tim Healy.
“My boys are trying to adjust with Tim and I splitting up and I want to be there for them; to keep an eye on them and make sure they are OK.”
We’re sure Natalie will do a great job of filling Denise’s big shoes.
