Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans is rumoured to be in the line up for the next series of Strictly Come Dancing. The BBC 1 series kicks off again in September and the show’s bosses are reportedly keen to get him on board.
Talking yesterday, a source revealed how Chris, who also presents The One Show, could bring a new edge to the show, which will be in its tenth series when it airs in the autumn.
“Chris would be a brilliant signing. He is a TV legend and would bring his own brand of humour and charisma to the show, not to mention nine million Radio 2 fans and five million One Show fans.”
The 46-year-old also presents The One Show on a Friday with Alex Jones, who last year high-kicked and jived her way into the semi-finals. The Welsh presenter has reportedly been offering support to Chris and willing him to get involved.
“Alex was worried about going on Strictly but loved every minute and has told Chris how much fun it was. The bosses hope her encouragement will swing it.''
If the dad-of-three did take part he would have a lot to live up to – with former One Show presenter Matt Baker having reached the final of the competition and Alex making the semis.
Maybe the red-haired wonder could top them all and take the strictly crown?

The 2012 judging panel will be joined by ballet legend Darcy Bussell – who’ll be sitting alongside old hands, Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel-Horwood.
We say, bring on the glitter and Spandex!
