Lauren Goodger and James 'Arg' Argent sure know how to have a good time.

It’s Lucy Mecklenburgh’s American prom themed birthday party during tonight’s final episode, but The Only Way Is Essex series regulars aren’t in the mood to party.

Instead they’re both moping about the great lost loves of their lives… Mark Wright and Lydia Bright.

“Why can’t you move on Lauren, I don’t understand?” asks Arg.

“I have tried to move on – the thing is, I will obviously love Mark for the rest of my life.” admits Lauren.

“Deep deep down Mark will always love and care for you… It’s the same as me and Lydia I suppose,” says Arg wistfully.

“I know. You and Lyds will love each other forever,” confirms Lauren

“I know we will, yeah. It's just sad the way things work out isn’t it? Deep down we both know we’ve lost the loves of our lives haven’t we?” says Arg

“Yeah. You can't change what's happened in the past, I've just got to look for the future,” a teary Lauren concludes.

Will Lauren and Arg ever get over their old romances? Dwelling on it certainly isn’t going to help.

We suggest downing a shot from Mario Falcone’s willy ice luge (this will make sense if you read yesterday’s story)

As for the rest of tonight’s totes emosh final episode in the series… click through our gallery to find out what happens.

The Only Way Is Essex (ITV2, 10pm) will return in the autumn.
