The Only Way Is Essex is only weeks away from returning for series seven and heatworld has learned that it could be a very different show that graces our telly screens.
New producers have been drafted in and are set to shake things up. Our insiders tell us that one of the new bigwigs previously worked on Geordie Shore and cast members are worried about TOWIE becoming as raucous as their Newcastle counterpart.
We’re told exclusively: “One of the new TOWIE producers has worked on Geordie Shore, which has got some of the cast worried about the format changing. There's going to be less set-up events, like Lucy's birthday, and just focus on general nights out with the cast.
"Now they're looking to capture some real drama on nights out, and will be filming from around 10.30pm to 12.30pm, and hopefully catch more raucous action like in Geordie Shore. Obviously some of the female cast are concerned about what is going to be shown.”
Back to the beginning of TOWIE
Another insider told us that the cast members – which will definitely include Lydia Bright, Charlie King, Bobby Norris, Sam Faiers, Joey Essex, Mario Falcone and Lucy Mecklenborough – are more optimistic about certain other changes the show will be making.
They tell us: “It will be like ‘back to the beginning’ for the show. It will be a lot more like the first two series of the show with a lot more comedy.”
What do you guys think of a rebooted TOWIE?
