JLS give X Factor hopefuls a Boot Camp pep talk

JLS give X Factor hopefuls a Boot Camp pep talk

It's Boot Camp weekend on ITV's The X Factor, which this week will see hundreds of hopefuls meet JLS before getting sent home, their sorry dreams in ruins, their hopes turned to dust.

Still: they get to meet JLS!

JLS!

The boyband were drafted in to give the 211 hopefuls a pre-Boot Camp pep talk, all "don't let this opportunity get away" and "chance of a lifetime" and such.

But as MTV reports, a third of the newly pepped-up hopefuls will be turned away before they've even sung a note. Sang a note? Singed a note.

"We've made a good call today," Gary Barlow deadpanned. "It gives the other two thirds of people who are left a good chance of learning something going forward in this competition." That's sort of how the process works Gary, yes.

Pressure

But an insider on the show admitted there were some "concerns" over two of the early favourites, with 'best sob story ever' singer Robbie Hance and supermarket worker Jahmene Douglas already feeling the Boot Camp pressure.

Jahmene is reported to have suffered from panic attacks at the Boot Camp stage, while Robbie threw a strop on-stage when he forgot some of his words.

"Robbie is a very complex character and isn't coping very well under pressure," the insider said. 'Complex' in this instance means 'stroppy'.

Backflips

Meanwhile, JLS have been showing this year's hopefuls just what they can look forward to if they make the show a success, queuing up yesterday in central London to bag a new iPhone 5.

And, obviously, Aston did a few backflips.

Aston, who is 24, really enjoys doing backflips, often when just doing the most mundane of tasks. Ask him to put the kettle on? He backflips all the way to the kitchen. Open a car door for him? He'll backflip through it. Model Renay Lewis revealed she'd enjoyed a brief encounter with the JLS star earlier this year, but neither confirmed or denied whether he backflipped into bed. We're saying: yes.

Statistically, Aston, one of those backflips is going to go wrong one day soon. You be careful there, buddy. Anyway, The X Factor is on ITV1 at 8:10pm tonight.
