In 'best news ever, best news actually ever' news, Mr Belding from Saved by the Bell – that's Dennis Haskins, if you insist on using his real life name – is a pro wrestler now. We know. Just imagine his soft, bewildered face as he is chokeslammed into a mat. He wouldn't know what is going on.
And, honestly, we're not sure what's going on any more. The world is topsy-turvy and nothing makes sense and Mr Belding from Saved by the Bell is a wrestler now. The man is 61 years old.
Seriously, imagine his little face
As TMZ reports, Mr Belding (as we will be referring to him throughout now) turned up at a Pro Wrestling Syndicate (PWS) event in New Jersey last weekend, where he clambered into the ring wearing a suit, walked around looking like Mr Belding for a bit, and then slammed a younger wrestler into the ground.
"We picked up that fans really like Mr Belding," said PWS co-owner Pat Buck (he actually called him Mr Belding). "He was a total trouper. He went above and beyond the call of duty. He worked his butt off."
This is real life, this is happening. You did not slip into a parallel universe where this is a thing. You have to deal with this information, right here and right now.
But why
And why exactly has Mr Belding decided to become a pro wrestler? Well, because it seems to be pretty hard to move on from the dizzing heights of being in an early '90s kids TV show saying "hey hey hey!" a lot.
Tiffani Thiessen – who played Kelly Kapowski in the show – went on to be in a couple of films and TV dramas and then not much else. Screech who played Screech was in a couple of 'specialist films' doing 'specialist things' to and with consenting adults that you definitely do not want to Google. And now Mr Belding is a wrestler.
We're not ones to speculate whether early '90s kids' TV shows are cursed or not, but… but the cast of Saved by the Bell are definitely cursed.
