Everyone, calm down, CALM DOWN: the chairs will remain. The big red revolving chairs will remain. Although the BBC announced a format shake-up for the next series of The Voice UK today, the chairs – or, ‘the best bit’ – will remain. Oh and so will all the judges.
According to BBC Newsbeat, all four of the original judges – will.i.am, J-J-Jessie J, Sir Tom Jones and Danny O’Donoghue – will return to the show, although the format will change a little. Hopefully starting with ‘allowing the judges to wear more than one outfit during the audition stages’.

“We can’t wait for The Voice UK to return to Saturday nights,” said executive producer Moira Ross. “With our four global superstars back on board, an unrivalled standard of vocal talent and the added excitement of ‘Steals’ and ‘Knockouts’, it is set to be an extraordinary series.”
Oh, right, yes, we should explain the steals and knockouts: Basically, this year the format has been rejigged to allow judges to nab prime act from each other during the battle rounds, a move that will result in fewer live shows but a touch more excitement. The audience will also take more of an active role in decided who gets sent home and who remains on the show.
Anyway, the new series starts next month. We are spinning in our chair in anticipation.
