When heatworld turned 16, we had dinner at Pizza Hut and went to watch The Truth About Cats And Dogs with our girlie mates at the cinema. Still, if we were the daughter of former Nirvana front man Kurt Cobain and the controversial Courtney Love then it probably would have been different. Frances Bean decided to celebrate her (not-so-sweet) sixteenth birthday with a "suicidal 16" themed party. The "RIP childhood" party was held in LA earlier this month, and reports claim that Frances' mum Courtney shelled out £160,000 making sure her daughter had the perfect night. Guests were sent invites that read: "My one and only sweet 16…..eerrrr actually it's my 'suicidal 16'". Friends were encouraged to go all-out on their costumes, with the best fancy-dress outfit winning prizes including an iPod Touch. Sounds a lot better than the stale slice of cake and deflated balloon we used to get in our party bags. We're sure this party is very cool to a 16-year-old and all that but, with the sad suicide of her dad Kurt Cobain being in the forefront of peoples' minds, it does leave a rather nasty taste in our mouths... What do you think? Should Frances and Courtney have steered clear of the "suicide" theme, or is it all just a bit of harmless teenage fun?
Weird theme for a party...
