To look at, David Beckham is pretty much perfect. But there’s always been one element of him that people have taken the piss out of – and now it’s been made official. Becks has Britain’s most hated celebrity accent, according to a new survey. His high-pitched Essex twang beat Gordon Brown and Coleen Rooney to be voted the most annoying voice – and Lily Allen, Amy Winehouse, Ozzy Osbourne, Chris Moyles and Charlotte Church also made the list. Geordies came out on top – Cheryl Cole and Ant and Dec have the nicest accents, apparently, along with Peter Kay, James Nesbitt and Edith Bowman. So, does Becks’ voice turn you right off, or do you like the way he sounds?
