We sat down for a chat with the world's most famous pig, and learned that Miss Piggy admires Lady Gaga's style, would love to work with Meryl Streep, and has 'borrowed' an Oscar!

Now you’re back in the public eye have you encountered any “over-enthusiastic” fans?

All the time! And who can blame them! If I saw moi, I’d get over-enthusiastic too. I try to be a friendly celebrity and sign autographs and pose for pictures, but sometime I have to get a little, uh, physical.  Who needs a bodyguard when vous have aa….hiiiii-yaaa!

What was your favourite thing about filming The Muppets movie?

Being back on the big screen with Kermie, of course! That and the catering. Wow, did they have some great desserts!

The Muppets won a best original song Oscar, were you disappointed about being snubbed in the best actress category?

It’s a very emotional topic for moi. I feel that the Academy is biased against actors outside their own species. However, I am thrilled that Bret McKenzie won an Oscar for Best Song…and it was so nice of him to let me borrow his Oscar. I just wish he’d stop calling and asking for it back.

How do you and Kermit keep your relationship fresh?

Love has a way of keeping all things fresh! We enjoy each other’s company. We work together. We play together. And best of all, we shop and eat together!  I don’t know about the frog, but that certainly refreshes moi.

You’ve met quite a few celebrities in your time, have you ever been star struck?

Of course! I am a fan of so many of the stars we’ve worked with, from Elton John to Ethel Merman, from Michael Caine to Bobby DeNiro!  Naturally, they all feel the same way about moi, so much of the time is spent standing there, mouth agape, star struck with each other. That’s why filming takes so long.

Is there anyone famous that you’d like to work with that you haven’t so far?

Meryl Streep. We have so much in common in terms of acting ability, star quality and warm and engaging personality. Really, the only difference between us is that she has three Oscars and I’ve got….zip!

Whose style do you most admire?

My own, of course. But I’m also a big fan of Lady Gaga, especially that outfit with the frogs. I, too, love to walk around with frogs draped all over moit. 

Do you see yourself as a pin up girl for the curvier lady?

I adore the shape I’m in.  Frankly, I believe that style comes in all sizes.  And therefore, the bigger you are, the more style you have. Don’t you agree? Of course you do. 

If you were just starting out in your career would you consider auditioning for a talent TV show like The X Factor or America’s Got Talent?

Yes, of course…even though it would be terribly unfair to the other contestants. But hey, that’s show biz!
