Come with us now on a fantastic adventure to 2006. (It would sort of help if you shake your hands in front of your face in waves and make a sort of "blur-blurp, blur-blurp" warping noise to synthesise the effect of time travel). Wow, it's 2006. Radical! For context, to put you in the mood: Justin Bieber is 12. Lindsay Lohan is only just starting to worry people. Honey Boo Boo is a deranged twinkle in some equally deranged eyes. Look around you. Smell things. Touch things. 2006 was weird.
New faces
But it was also the year that West End smash hit musical Wicked first took to the stage in London's Apollo Victoria Theatre. Back then, the initial cast was made up of Helen Dallimore as the Good Witch Glinda, Adam Garcia as the pretty okay prince Fiyero and Idina Menzel as the Wicked Witch Elphaba. After a while, Idina morphed into Kerry Ellis, who herself was replaced by Rachel Tucker in 2011. That's how West End casting works, by the way. You know how when David Tennant turned into Matt Smith in Doctor Who? Kind of like that, but with more singing.
