They don't normally get a huge amount of press, but by God were last night's National Movie Awards good! heatworld trod the red carpet with the best of them (read semi-stalked Joshua Jackson) and wowza were we impressed with the A-List turnout. Gwyneth Paltrow looked perfectly statuesque in hot pink Prada - and hilariously tall when introducing Tom Cruise (who was the night's biggest name - and biggest disappointment when it came to his acceptance speech). Katie Holmes dutifully clapped, while all the time sitting mere metres away from her ex-beau Joshua "Pacey" Jackson and his long-term GF Diane Kruger.
James Corden and (swoon) Dominic Cooper were the funnymen of the night - it helped that DC is pretty - while Emma Watson blubbed her way through Harry Potter's Special Recognition Award acceptance speech and looked INCREDIBLE in Karl Lagerfeld and sky-high Louboutins. But our surprise guest of the night was Ms Kylie Minogue, who was mini in Emilio Pucci and Jimmy Choos (and a totally wrinkle-free face. That Ponds cream is a miracle worker). Chris Noth aka Mr Big was in town, too - although his security pooh-poohed any hope of us getting a good photo with him (we settled for an awkward 'loitering in the background' shot). Orlando Bloom, Alex Zane and George Lamb were all pretty of face too, as was Twilight dad Peter Facinelli, who kinda seemed to know it too. All in all, a good night was had by all - although everyone was disappointingly well behaved.
