BAFTA All the dresses...

After ITV2's TOWIE beat the likes of Downton Abbey and Sherlock to take home the coveted You Tube Audience Award, you could be forgiven for thinking most stars at the 2011 BAFTA Television Awards were wearing little more than a polite smile.

But while the TOWIE cast were undoubtedly clad in the sparkliest frocks, they weren't the only ones to dress up for the occasion with Daisy Lowe, Cat Deeley and Gillian Anderson pulling out all the style stops in an array of high fashion labels.

Who got it right and who got it so very wrong? Have a look at our gallery and let us know who were your style hits and style misfits...

Model Daisy Lowe and her Doctor Who beau Matt Smith made a very fashion entrance in a Craig Lawrence see-through gown and Brook Brothers suit respectively. Maybe lose the shades next time, eh Doctor?

Cricketeer Kevin Pietersen and wife Jessica Taylor played it safe in black - with Jess' upping the fash' credentials with a chequered Anya Hindmarch clutch.

TV couplings were out in force - with TOWIE's Sam Faiers and Joey Essex looking more loved up than ever. But it's Joey who really raised the label stakes with in snakeskin D&G sneakers and a trusty Hermes belt.

Gillian Anderson got a few laughs when she  plugged her mate's vintage store (William Vintage) on stage. The actress was a fashion hit in Dior - wrapping up with a sequin bolero that once belonged to Ms Wallace Simpson herself.

Doctor Who actress Alex Kingston may have opted for classic black but the Vivienne Westwood cut and flouncey fabric ensured she turned heads for all the right reasons.

TV presenter Jenni Falconer proved that maternity fashion needn't be frumpy in frothy Project D - Dannii Minogue's fashion line.

Black was definitely the (non) colour of the night with Cat Deeley slipping on a lacey gown by Christian Dior.

Corrie star Katherine Kelly stuck a perfectly manicured finger up at those who say soap stars can't do chic in a full-length blue gown with backless detail.

Michelle Collins worked autumn's over-sized pailette trend (that's sequin to the rest of us) a whole season ahead. The neckline looks a little painful though...

There was nothing funny about comedian Miranda Hart's black ensemble. While it may not be the most fahhsion of looks, we LOVE the studded pump detail.

She may not have the orange TOWIE tan but that didn't stop Nanny Pat from donning an orange frock. We LOVE the personalised Patricia necklace by Punky Pins.
