Gilly Ferguson's Style Blog: '7 Trends in 7 Days'- the week Blake Lively went NUTS for Doggy Style, and more…

Made you look, made you stare, made Blake Lively ALLEGEDLY lose her underwear…

Only we don't care about silliness like that, right? (Don't answer that). No, it's the trends mill that really drives us fashion fanatics - and the lovely Blake Lively is dabbling in the doggy trend in the most literal of ways - by toting around a dog, obvs.

And you can forget news that Steps are back on track too, because this very week the STYLE ELITE REGROUPED; leading the way with some of autumn/winter's most covetable looks, proving yet again there's no scoop like a style scoop.

Want to know what they're wearing? Want to know what we'll be wearing come autumn? Here's presenting 7 TRENDS IN 7 DAYS:

Look at them, love them, loathe them and let us know which ones are cute and which ones are poop.

1]DOGGY STYLE

St Bernard's may have ruled the front row at Mulberry, but it's Topshop Unique who've ensured that all good dog prints will have their day, mixing a plethora of dalmatian prints and motifs through their A/W collection.

And then there's Tinseltown, where celebrity types (who CAN HAVE WHATEVER THEY LIKE) have gone the whole hog and debuted some ACTUAL DOGS.

Blake Lively’s been out and about with her long-term furry friend Penny the Maltpoo', while Mary-Kate Olsen and her dog have been looking preppy in Prada.

While we can't all give a dog a home, we can all try a Topshop knit to stay streaks ahead of the trends. And if that's still not enough, why not treat yourself to Wallis Simpson's favourite Steiff (*snigger*) accessory, it's just like the real thing. Except it doesn't dance…

Give a pug a home. Topshop £16

Blake Lively and Penny the Maltese Poodle...Malteserpoo?

Get your paws on a doggy bag from Topshop, £14

Mary-Kate Olsen looks suitably chic, thanks in part to the Prada shades...but it's mainly the dog.

Rachel Bilson reworks the catwalk as her dog takes her out for her spin...

2]BOOKY NOOKY

Natalie Portman pipped most to the fashion post when she debuted the now cult Olympia Le Tan book clutch back in March. Fast-forward to July 2011 and everyone's at it - ASOS included!

A little bit literary, a little bit smart, this is one trend to suit all whether you treat yourself to Le Tan, ASOS, or fashion your heat mag into this week's cult bag.

Feast your eyes on ASOS' £25 version.

3]BEAR CUFFS

Do you have hairy wrists? Lucky you. This is the week you can finally wave your hands in the air like you just don't care, as hairy-bear cuffs reach cult style status.

Sienna Miller may've been mocked when she wore hers back in November. Some even said her hands looked like birthing bear cubs (mean) but Ms Miller was simply ahead of her time.

And now we're ALL set to slip on some faux furry cuffs, courtesy of ASOS thankyouverymuch.

4]Liza Minnelli 'dos

Where Liza styles, others do follow (apparently). This week saw Sarah Harding and Vanessa Hudgens debut some dubious new 'do's...

The Hudge has gone for the chop too.

Whaddya reckon, does it get a 'yay' or a not-on-your-Minnelli?

5]The Clash

Colour blocking is so two week's ago. Now, thanks to D&G, it's all about clashing those eclectic prints be it leopard spots, summer stripes or so-hot-right-now stars.

See Sunday Girl Jade Williams for inspiration.

6]If in doubt, FAKE IT...

Forget hats, the sun has clearly got a right old mood on this week.

Well screw you summer, this week Jen An's proved there's nothing like a dose of self-tanner to remedy the situation while promoting her new film Horrible Bosses.

Her pick? St. Tropez Gold Skin Illuminator (£12)on her body to enhance and highlight her gorgeous tan. Noice.

7]SOMEWHEREBETWEENTHEWAISTANDJUSTABOVETHEKNEE-COATs

Or something catchier. Waistcoats have proven themselves to be something of a perennial favourite but this week they're coming bigger and better than ever. Namely they're LONG.

Model Jessica Hart's been out and about in her own label Neon Hart while Whitney Port loves Evil Twin. And there are heaps on the high street too.

Best worn layered up over denim shorts and racer-back tees now and layered under coats come winter (slash Saturday) if you want to stay ahead in the style stakes, put your money on ASOS' sheer styles.
