Because loose locks are just too much hard work on a blustery, rainy day like this it’s the perfect time to try out the side pony. With Beyonce, Ashley Tisdale and Rose Byrne all giving the asymmetric look a go, you’ll be in very good company. We asked celeb hairdresser (she even does Gary Barlow although we doubt we’ll see him sporting one) and Aussie ambassador Liz Taw how to get a bit on the side….
“The side ponytail is easy glamour at its best.Set your hair in rollers for polish and bounce.
Section off the back from ear to ear and clip the front out of the way.
Back comb the crown and gently smooth it back with the comb for the right amount of height and polish.
Gather hair to the side making a low side ponytail and secure with a band.
Make a low side parting with the front section and wrap the ends around the elastic sweeping the small side closely and giving the larger section a little shake before wrapping and pinning into the base of the pony (you can use a couple of kirby grip to fasten)
For extra polish and hold I like to use Aussies's Aussome Volume Hairspray sprayed onto a blusher brush to smooth away any strays and finish the look.
