To secure her role in the much-anticipated The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo movie, Rooney Mara went through a tough transformation. She lopped off her dark blonde locks, bleached her eyebrows and endured painful body piercings. Her head was partially shaved and she had to learn how to ride motorbikes and keep her weight low for the role of Lisbeth. Now that is what we call true dedication. No wonder she beat the likes of Carey Mulligan and Keira Knightley to the role.

For the London premiere of the film the actress left her tattoos, piercings and leather trousers at home instead opting for a stunning white Givenchy Haute Couture gown by Riccardo Tisci. She kept her hair raven-dark with her now-trademark blunt fringe, but added chic smoky eyes.

Fellow Dragon star Daniel Craig also attended wearing a slightly weird leather coat. TV presenter Laura Whitmore slipped on her fave Aldo leopard print heels, a coat and (we're hoping) a little black dress underneath.

Made In Chelsea's Cheska and Gabi clearly have very little to do with their time now. Both popped along to the event wearing floor length black gowns. Gabi hasn't given up her purple lipstick obsession and Cheska is still doing a strange crimpy thing to her hair. Time to move on from the not-so-great beauty tricks, hey ladies?
