The Oscars 2012: Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz, Michelle Williams and more!

Though we're used to seeing her ridiculously long legs at events, Cameron Diaz still looked great with them covered up in this off-white Gucci gown.

Gwyneth Paltrow looked elegant in this white Tom Ford dress and cape. We imagine that if Greek gods and superheroes had babies, they might look a lot like this.

The Help actress Jessica Chastain impressed with her black and gold embroidered McQueen dress.

Bridesmaids star Maya Rudolph wore a plum-hued Johanna Jonson dress with silver detailing. She was spotted being chatted up by Pharrell Williams on the red carpet, too. No wonder!

Meryl Streep must've known she was going to get the Oscar for Best Actress - why else would she have dressed as an Academy Award?! The metallic gold gown was designed by Lanvin.

Michelle Williams braved the tough peplum look in a coral Louis Vuitton gown. As well as clashing with the carpet, the dress is wearing her, and it should be the other way round.

After her BAFTAs mishap, Octavia Spencer got it so right in this white jewel-detailed Tadashi Shoji gown. Oh, and she got an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role of Aibileen Clark in The Help. Well done, Octavia!

Penelope Cruz looked like a Disney princess in a lavendery-blue Giorgio Armani dress.

Sandra Bullock wore an elegant white and navy Marchesa gown with sequinned detailling around the waist and on the shoulders.

Tina Fey bared her shoulders with a custom-made deep purple Carolina Herrara dress. She also braved the peplum and pulled it off!
