How much do we love Alexa Chung's Egyptian eye nails? Earlier today Alexa tweeted a twitpic of her new nail art, which inspired us to look back to the Topshop Unique S/S '12 show where models sported nail guru Sophy Robson's hieroglyphic design first. Here's how to walk (and paint) like an Egyptian if you fancy following suit...
“At Topshop, I was asked to do graphic, mixed-up Egyptian nails,” explains Sophy. “I custom-mixed Topshop’s gold polishes as I wanted the nails to look extra shiny and gleaming on the catwalk. Then I painted on hieroglyphic-style pyramids, tribal stripes and all-seeing eyes to each nail. It was a lot of hard work painting 450 fingernails but it was worth it in the end!”
