Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend was the most star studded event to take place in East London in, well, ever! With massive acts like Tinie Tempah, Nicki Minaj, Ed Sheeran and Florence + the Machine the fashion statements were bound to be bold. But we couldn’t help but wonder what Rihanna was thinking when she appeared on stage in tiny weeny hot pants and fishnet cycling shorts. She matched the miniscule shorts with a cheetah emblazoned tee and leather biker jacket. RiRi also rocked some crazy eyewear in both her sets at the weekend, appearing with Jay-Z in goggle-style sunnies on Saturday and gold embellished glasses on Sunday. Rude rapper and fashion muse Azealia Banks kept in with the fetish theme in a studded choker with chains cuffed to her wrists as well as a fishnet crop top and leather shorts. Throughout the weekend hemlines were kept short with a barefooted Florence Welch in an embroidered dipped hem dress and what looked like spiderwebs caught in her hair. Lana Del Rey was looking typically glamorous with a backcombed bouffant, smoky eyes and red puffball skirt and a large gold cross pendant necklace. Jessie J worked the humbug look in monochrome striped trousers by Motel and Jeffrey Campbell studded boots, she also showed off her toned tummy in a tangerine coloured crop top. The boys also made the effort with Jay-Z looking ‘swagtastic’ in his Brooklyn Nets cap and very sensibly layered up in a leather jacket and camouflage reflective coat. Which festival look was your fave, heatworlders?
