X Factor 2012 Style: Rebecca Ferguson’s gold catsuit loved by Cheryl, Britney Spears and JLo but do YOU think it’s eek or chic?

Forget Melanie Masson’s shock(ish) exit fromThe X Factor 2012 results show or Gary’s now legendary strop for a moment because - if there was one thing that everyone and anyone was talking about last night – it was Rebecca Ferguson’s liquid gold James Bond-esque figure-licking catsuit.

X Factor 2012 runner-up Rebecca, 26 - who dated One Direction’s Zayn Malik for four months in 2011 – shimmied into the gold onesie and onto the X Factor stage for a performance of her latest single Backtrack.

Which went down really rather well. What didn’t go down quite so well was the outfit though –with both fans and non-fans venting their style-based outrage on Twitter.
One fan wrote: ‘LOVE Rebecca Ferguson but what on earth is she wearing?’ Um, a gold onesie.

But what did YOU make of RF’s post X Factor makeover? We were eyes fixed on her VPL and v-edgie like most of heatworld's Twitter feed? Are you a fan of the lovely Liverpudlian? DID she, as suggested, copy Cheryl Cole’s recent on stage look?

Or is wearing a gold jumpsuit just one of the marks of becoming a celebrity? And, if it’s good enough for Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Cheryl and co then who are we to point the gold finger?

Some people believe that Cheryl's gold tour suit inspired Rebecca Ferguson's X Factor style. But that's likely just because most people will use any excuse to shoehorn a picture of Cheryl in... (see said picture above)...
