We know the Duchess of Cambridge is a huge fan of the British high street but we were still surprised to hear K-Middy opted for a non-designer blouse for her first ever portrait!
The famous painting of Kate has been the subject of much discussion with one journalist even comparing it to "something unpleasant from Twilight." Ouch. We hope they weren't talking of our dear Robert Pattinson...
Anyway, Kate herself was very pleased with the portrait which now hangs in the National Portrait Gallery for all to see. For her sitting the Duchess chose to wear her fave flattering deep blue shade, opting for a purse-friendly French Connection silky tie top costing £57.
The top was recently reduced in the sale to an even more bargainous £37 but is now sold out. Boo! BUT a lucky few can still buy the white version. Yay!
Pity. We would have liked to have worn the same top and sat in front of a gloomy window to recreate Kate's portrait.
