In a massive u-turn, it looks as though Dannii Minogue will be staying on The X Factor this year after all. According to reports, Simon Cowell has decided that keeping Dannii will help his show win the ratings war with Strictly Come Dancing later this year. TV's Mr Nasty also fears that axing her will make her into a martyr, after he got rid of Kelly Brook on Britain's Got Talent just days into filming. Insiders say that he came to the decision after talks with potential replacements including Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton – who Simon was said to be impressed by when she appeared in the judges houses in the last series – Lily Allen and Charlotte Church. Simon is thought to have changed his mind after making the decision that Dannii would help boost ratings. A close source revealed, "He had been toying with the idea of new blood for a while, but when he looked back it became increasingly obvious that Dannii was the talking point of the last series. Simon is a very canny business man and this is a purely business decision. Although ditching Dannii and getting a new judge could win viewers for the first few shows, keeping Dannii pretty much guarantees fireworks throughout the entire series." But don’t rule out new blood completely – apparently Simon has been chatting to Kate Moss about a potential position where she would help style the contestants, but Moss is said to be nervous about the offer.
