Alexandra Burke has admitted in a new interview that The X Factor caused a rift in her family, and that she didn't even want to attend the auditions in the first place. Talking to Marie Claire, Alexandra says her huge success has damaged her already strained relationship with her mum Melissa, saying, "She had Soul II Soul but it didn't last as long as she wanted it to last. Then I get this big new show, I win it, and it's weird for her to see this. Although she's proud, it's like she wants to rewind time to when she was younger, when she didn't have kids." Alexandra also admits that her brother Aaron has been affected by her success, and found it hard to cope when his sister was the subject of taunts from jealous neighbours. In the end, Alexandra's relationship with her mum became so bad that she moved out of the family home. It was only at her mum Melissa's insistence that she ever even auditioned for The X Factor, admitting, "I was like, 'Leave me the f**k alone. Stop talking about X Factor. I don't want to do it." We bet she's glad she listened to her mum now, huh?
