Simon Cowell has found himself at the centre of a storm of controversy and criticism today following his decision last night not to save contestant Lucie Jones, but to let the public decide, instead. Lucie and Jedward both sang for survival in the results show last night and, while Lucie arguably had the better vocal, Jedward gave it their all and were brilliant fun to watch. Deliberating afterwards, Simon Cowell admitted he'd "probably" rather watch Jedward again than Lucie, and then told Dermot to take it to deadlock. A visibly shocked Lucie cried as she was told the news, but bravely allowed that the public had made their decision. heatworld was on our Twitter when the news broke, and the mixture of both outrage and joy was astounding. Many of you are threatening to boycott The X Factor, while many more of you can't understand what all the fuss is about. To be fair, if Lucie had failed to make an impression on the public at this stage, could she really have won in the end? And surely Simon choosing to go to deadlock was the fairest way to decide? We want you to vote on Simon's decision, and tell us what YOU think about the whole thing. Go on, you can rant to your heart's content.
Was Simon in the wrong?
