Danyl Johnson has revealed he battled with cancer when he was younger. The X Factor semi-finalist explained, "I have had many visits to hospital. Most of the time it was to do with sports and arts injuries, but when I was 11 they found cancerous cells in my scrotum. It was a scary time, but I came through it. I tried to be patient and not take it out on those around me." Danyl says his experience has made him passionate about alerting men to get checked out, adding, "I feel passionate about sexual health checks. The NHS provides a service to check you out, yet people don't do it. I don't understand why. If you ever feel there's something wrong, talk to people. It's always better to check it out. Be brave." Blimey. You can tell he's a teacher, can't you? We admire his words of wisdom, though. Danyl also admitted at the secret X Factor gig last night that visited mentor Whitney Houston "absolutely hated" him. because he performed one of her unreleased tracks on the show. Oops!
