The X Factor: Craig Colton confirms he’s gay after Nu Vibe out him

He’s never openly discussed his sexuality, until now. X Factor hopeful Craig Colton has confirmed that he is gay after the boys from Nu Vibe called him a “b*m boy” (how mature of them) during an interview.

During a post-exit chat one member of Nu Vibe said, “Craig (Colton) and Marcus (Collins) are b*m boys and we love them.” 

The comments of course led to online speculation about Craig’s sexuality, and so the 23-year-old Liverpool singer has chosen to address the gossip, telling The Daily Star, “I have never hidden my sexuality and I am proud of who I am.” It would seem he has no hard feeling towards Nu Vibe for their careless comments, “Nu Vibe are all my best mates,” said Craig.

Craig really is BFFs the Nu Vibe boys. When the ousted boy band left the X Factor house yesterday Craig was spotted crying as the boys drove off, and earlier in the day he was seen comforting friend Stefan from the group.

    Oh, and while I'm on a roll, why is it that gay men get called bum boys etc, yet there are very homophobic sexist yob-like men (we all know one) who think it is the height of manliness to 'sh*g a bird up the ar*e'??? How does that work?!

    It's silly that people get commended for confirming they're gay, but no-one is expected to confirm they are straight. Whose business is it anyway? Just be who you are and NEVER apologise for that (unless you're a bigot, then don't stop apologising).

    This isn't true! Stefan from Nu Vibe is one of his best mates and they've apologised to Craig on twitter saying it wasn't true!

    Nu Vibe need to grow up! So what if Craig is gay, he has an amazing voice. I think Nu Vibe are jealous.

    It isn't surprising but even if they are friends it's still a bit on an insensitive way to put it out there before he;d told everyone. That's not saying that he had to either.
