Courtney Love, widow of Nirvana frontman, Kurt Cobain has tweeted Simon Cowell to say Janet Devlin can sing a Nirvana song on the X Factor this week.
Apparently Courtney – who inherited the rights to the band’s tracks after Kurt killed himself in 1994 - not only watches the show but is a huge fan of the red haired singer and wants her to win.
She posted: “@SimonCowell you want some Nirvana songs? @JanetJealousy is from the same town as Kurt? I have the perfect idea for that, call me babe.”
Shortly after she tweeted Janet herself: “@JanetJealousy hey love, check your dm :) xoxo”
Ooh, we want to know what the message said!

The Irish teen is actually from the same part of County Tyrone as some of the 90’s rocker’s ancestors. Janet is from the village of Gortin which is just 17 miles away from Inishative, where his ancestors live.
The Sun have said that X Factor producers are “stunned”, as getting permission for songs can be very difficult sometimes. Many bands have refused to let X Factor acts perform their songs and use of Nirvana songs has previously been denied. The Beatles’ hits were only used last year to mark their release on iTunes.
But, fans of the rock band are enraged about the idea of a track being performed on the X Factor and have set up a campaign on Facebook to get the bands nineties hit, Smells Like Teen Spirit, to the Christmas number one spot, instead of this year’s winner.
This reminds us of when rock-band Rage Against The Machine beat fresh-faced Joe McElderry to the top spot in 2009.
The X Factor finalists have to perform two songs each this week and with the theme being Heroes and Guilty Pleasures, a Nirvana song would fit in perfectly.
With the judges complaining each week that she is ‘predictable’, would a rock track give our little Janet the edge she needs to win?
