While the X Factor contestants are no doubt waking up with sore heads after a night of post-final celebrations, Simon Cowell has a sore head for a different reason.
The X Factor boss is reportedly in a grump about the flagging ratings for the show, as once again it’s rival Strictly Come Dancing won the rating battke. Audeince numbers for The X Factor’s Saturday night Wembley Arena final were down by 3.5million compared to last year, while X Factor’s ratings peaked at 11.8million, Strictly pulled in 12.3million viewers
Simon is now thought to be “disappointed and concerned” over The X Factor’s performance, and could be planning a shake up on the show.
"Seeing the final get beaten by Strictly will be the final straw and heads will roll. There is definitely a need for change, on the judging panel and in production,” a snitchy source has told The Mirror.
“Simon took some of the best staff behind the camera for X Factor USA and the new team haven’t worked out. There’s a feeling that people are happy to miss the Saturday show and catch up on Sunday because they didn’t care who won as much as in previous years.”
