Simon Cowell has admitted that he may have been 'a bit cocky' about the potential success of The US X Factor. Yes, that’s right. This is a video of Simon Cowell actually apologising for something.
Simon was being grilled by reporters about the success of the show when he said, “I think I probably came here a bit too cocky, but I’m cocky by nature. I’d come off the back of a massive final in the UK. Had the adrenaline, couldn’t wait to put the show on here.
“And it’s going to take a little bit longer than I thought, but this will be the greatest final we’ve ever been in.”
What do you think? Will The X Factor be as huge in America as it is in the UK? Simon had said he wanted more than 20million viewers to tune into, but it has drawn an average of 12million, less than half the number that watch American Idol.
Simon has pulled out all the stops for the final of the US show. Justin Bieber and Leona Lewis are going to perform to help it go with a bang, but will that be enough to make up for the less impressive ratings?
As Simon puts it, “I never ever finish a show thinking it’s the best I’ve ever done.”
Steve Jones is probably feeling a bit nervous about the rumours that he won’t be booked in for another series of the show, but an X Factor spokesperson said to the Sun: "No discussions have been had and no decisions will be made about any new contracts until the New Year."
