Despite only being a temporary judge on The X Factor at the moment, Geri Halliwell has already got some big plans for the show.

If Geri becomes a permanent judge, which she will if she impresses Simon Cowell, she’s said she’d like to bring in George Michael to help on the judges' houses round of the competition.

But what if he’s busy that day? Well Geri says she’ll draft in her mum instead.

“Whoever I bring in as my guest helper will be authentic to me. It wouldn’t be rent-a-celeb,” Geri said.

“I’d possibly ask George [Michael] as that feels authentic. It would either be him or my mum.”

Both equally good…

Before joining The X Factor, it was reported that Geri was putting a band together, and she’s using the same techniques for the talent show that she used when auditioning girls for her band.

“When I was auditioning for my new band I would have a normal person look at it because that’s who I make music for, normal people.”

Would Geri have auditioned for The X Factor back in the day?

Geri has also spoken about how she’d have given X Factor a go if it had been around when she was trying to make it as a singer.

“My mum was a cleaner; we didn’t have money for stage school, so I’d have entered The X Factor. I love it for that reason.”
