It looks like the X Factor audiences don’t want to spice up their lives. First, Geri Halliwell was booed at the Liverpool auditions, and now Mel B has riled the audience in Manchester during her stint as a guest judge.
Mel, who is already a judge on The X Factor in Australia, was on the receiving end of a chorus of boos when she was mean to a contestant in his 80s. According to Digital Spy, 81-year-old Lou – a widower from Birmingham – joked that he was “available” (ahem) for judge Tulisa Contostavlos before beginning his auditions.
After he sang, Tulisa told Lou that his performance “pulled at my heart strings,” while Mel B was less impressed and harshly commented, “I wanted to fall asleep.”
Oh dear. No one likes it when the judges are mean to the older auditionees!
Mel hasn’t quite filled Simon Cowell’s Mr Nasty shoes though; she was quick to comfort a woman who started crying during the first session of auditions.
Simon launches X Factor USA promo
While X Factor auditions are going on over here, over in the US Simon Cowell, LA Reid, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato are also on the road at X Factor US auditions. To build up the hype Simon has released a brand new teaser trailer to promote the show; it mostly involves Si bickering with LA and then swearing at the end.
