Forget about Geri Halliwell, One Direction are keen to be the brand new fourth X Factor judge – and they’d even squeeze on to one seat!

Speaking to 110% Pop about the idea of sitting alongside Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Tulisa the 1D's Zayn Malik joked, 

“I'm sure [five One Direction boys in one chair] would be very interesting to watch actually. We haven't been approached for that yet. If we do get approached I'm sure we'll try and sort out that we're all sitting in one chair, yeah.”

Pranks

The boys are of course currently in the US on tour – which would make being at The X Factor auditions a little difficult – with Olly Murs supporting them.

As well as missing his Xtra Factor presenting duties, Olly should expect lots of backstage shenanigans, as the 1D boys – who famously love mucking a about – have plenty of pranks prepared, 

“He should be worried about the pranks cos there are gonna be plenty of them,” warns Zayn.

And if this news has Olly worried, it shouldn’t. Zayn has revealed that when 1D go on tour it’s like being part of a family, and that the boys become close to all the people who work with them,

“It is a lot like an on-the-road family. You do become really close to the people that you're working with. Especially the band members because they're the only four people in the world that understand what you're going through. You have a special bond.”
