Imagine auditioning for The X Factor USA in front of Britney Spears. Intimidating or what!? She is one of the biggest pop stars on the planet after all, but is she also one of the toughest to impress?

Rumours have been swirling that Simon Cowell might have to hand his Mr Nasty crown to Britney, but the she says that’s just not true!

“I think I'm a fair judge. Sometimes it's kind of hard because I know what they've been through and being so young, it's such a delicate situation when they're that young. You just have to use constructive criticism and be there for them and show them support,” she assured everyone during an X Factor press conference at the latest auditions in San Francisco.

“It's been fun, it's been a lot of fun” Brit continued. “I'm looking for someone who shows spark and spunk? [and that] they're meant to do what they're doing.”

“I don't think I'm the toughest judge at all. I definitely think Simon would have to be the toughest judge,” she concluded.

Phew! Thanks goodness for that, we don’t think we could cope with the seismic shift that would involve Simon being the ‘nice one’. Plus, we can only think of Britney as being all lovely and a little bit ditzy. So all is right with the world.
