The X Factor 2012: Louis Walsh stands in for Simon Cowell during American auditions

It’s super Louis Walsh to the rescue!

X Factor boss Simon is currently under the weather and is bedridden with a nasty case of bronchitis – which means he is unable to attend the next US auditions today in Kansas City. And of all the people Simon could tap up as a stand in, he’s gone for Louis Walsh!

We have no idea what the US will make of Louis (and more importantly his Louis-isms, “He’s like a little Lenny Henry” will leave Americans more confused than it did us), but that hasn’t stopped Simon from flying his pal over to the US to replace him. Simon has even charted a private jet and splashed out an massive £160,000 for Louis’ round trip to the States. Makes Brad and Ange's curry splurge look small time.

“Simon said it was an emergency and Louis was the man for the job,” a source tells The Sun. “He said he’d sorted out a private jet for him and he was to get on it as soon as he finished up in Manchester.

“He greased the wheels with the US bosses, telling them that Louis was the man who knew more about The X Factor than any other judge.”

This means Louis is going from judging in a rainy Manchester with Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos and Mel B, to sitting alongside LA Reid, Demi Lovato and Britney Spears. Our head is spinning at the thought of it, we can't wait to see how Louis delt with it. Louis’ episode of The X Factor USA is going to be amazing.
