Next weekend the X Factor live shows begin (whoop!), so what can we expect from one of our favourite contestants Lucy Spraggan?
The 21-year-old singer/songwriter never fails to impress when she sings one of her own songs, but when she had to cover Maroon 5’s Moves Like Jagger her performance was a little, er, wobbly. And she feared her that her Judges’ Houses cover version of I Will Always Love You wasn’t good enough either (it was).
The performance left Tinie Tempah – Tulisa Contostavlos’ co-mentor for the day – a little unsure,
“I don’t know. It’s such a big song to sing,” he commented. While Tulisa questioned if her voice was ‘big’ enough for the competition,
“There’s vocals that are just amazing here today and then she comes on and what she does is so much more simple but it’s that thing isn’t it, she has her niche and does the niche stand up to the big voices?”
There’s no doubting Lucy’s talent as a songwriter, but she can do an amazing job of covering other people’s songs too. We found this video of her singing Ed Sheeran’s The A Team filmed almost a year ago and another featuring an amazing mash-up of tracks.
We’ve also unearthed the official video for the song that made everyone fall in love with Lucy, the clip for Last Night (Beer Fear) is just as funny as the song.
If you’re a Lucy Spraggan fan just like us check out some of her other videos too – we’ve included a few here for you.
