Gary Barlow 'embarrassed' to be sitting in X Factor judges' seat as Rylan Clark performs 'gold'!

It's no doubt that Rylan Clark’s spirits needed lifting after last night’s X Factor live performance didn’t go as he expected.

You could cut the tension with a knife at the first live show when Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh confessed Rylan could not sing.

Feisty pussycat, Nicole Scherzinger, told Gary, “Don’t be an old grumpy fart.” After taking quite a dig at Take That’s 1991 video for Do What You Like, “Shall we bring out the body jello.”

A passionate, opinionated Gary’s quick tongue hit back with, “And 22 years later I am still here.”

Despite Gary’s harsh comment following Rylan’s performance, “I wanted to have some fun and I really was having fun until you started singing tonight. I was embarrassed to be sat here.”

Rylan seemed to put the negative comments out of the forefront of his mind and showed his mature, respectable side by tweeting Mr Barlow, “I have nothing but respect and admiration for @GBarlowOfficial x.” Ah bless him.

Rylan put on an electric performance as he sang Spandau Ballet’s Gold in conjunction with a gold/Egyptian theme, surrounded by a plethora of male and female dancers. It was fun, energetic with a Rylan stamp all over it. We wouldn’t want Rylan to pretend he is something he isn’t, would we?

Tulisa Contostavlos said, “It is cheesy and it is cabaret but you are an entertainer...I don’t think the competition would be the same without you.”

Rylan was greeted at his hotel that evening with a heart-felt welcoming by a group of female supporters.

He was cheered and screamed at by the adorning fans ready with hugs for the wannabe diva as he happily posed for pictures.

Check out the video below. What did you make of Rylan’s performance? Too OTT?
